Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo kept their chances of reaching the semifinals alive after they beat Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi 7-5 6-4.

It was the Croatian-Brazilian duo who started the brightest as they broke in the fourth game to lead 3-1 in the opening set. They were serving well and gaining confidence as each game went on. However they couldn’t hold their nerve and Huey and Mirnyi took full advantage to level the first set at 5-5. Despite three set points failing to be converted, Dodig and Melo continued to be aggressive and break once again to lead 6-5. This time they did keep their momentum and took the first set 7-5.

The second set saw a much more consistent set of tennis, with both teams serve well with Dodig and Melo serving the better. The pressure that the 2014 Roland Garros champions applied was evident as they broke in the ninth game to secure an important break to lead 5-4. They then held their nerve to win their first match of the group and keep their chances of reaching the last four alive. Their win also means that Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares will have to wait until Thursday to book their place in the semifinals.

The final games in the group will see Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo play Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares, While Bob and Mike Bryan will play Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi.
