The entry lists for the Apia International in Sydney and for the ASB Classic in Auckland have been completed.
Sydney and Auckland will be take place from the 9th to the 15th of January, in the second week of the 2017 Atp season and just before the Australian Open. The both Atp 250 tournaments will be played on outdoor-hard courts. Auckland is the only tournament held in New Zealand.
Spain’s Roberto Bautista-Agut, who is the defending champion, is the highest ranked player in the ASB Classic’s acceptance list. He is followed by American giant John Isner, fellow Spaniards David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez, and Jack Sock. Davis Cup hero Juan-Martin Del Potro is among the stars of the event as well. The original cut-off, at 60, is not bad for an Atp 250 tourney.
The Apia International Sydney Tennis also shows a solid entry list. Austria’s Dominic Thiem, who is the only top-10 player who has chosen to play two tournaments before the Australian Grand Slam, leads the field. Some other notable names are those of Pablo Cuevas, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Gilles Muller and the defending champion Viktor Troicki.
