The Draw Abu Dhabi Mubadala World Tennis Championships exhibition took place on the Centre Court at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex at the Zayed Sports Complex, on the site where the three-day tournament will take place from 29th to 31st December 2016.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will take on David Goffin in the inaugural match on Thursday 29th December at 17.00 pm local time. Former world number one and 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal will face two-time Davis Cup champion Tomas Berdych in the second match.
World number 1 and double Olympic gold medallist Andy Murray and Milos Raonic have received to bye to play in the semifinals scheduled on Friday 30th December. Murray will play against the winner of the match between Tsonga and Goffin. Raonic will face either Nadal or Berdych.
The finals for third and fourth place and first and second place are scheduled on Saturday 31st December.
Nadal won the Mubadala tournament three times in 2010, 2011 and 2016 and holds the record of titles won in this event together with Novak Djokovic, who won three times from 2011 to 2013. Murray clinched two titles in 2009 and 2015. Last year Nadal beat Raonic 7-6 6-3.
“I really enjoy the fans, the competition and the atmosphere in the stadium in Abu Dhabi. It is the best way to start my season. I have enjoyed many years playing in the UAE capital against the other top guys and I am already looking forward to the next. After playing in Abu Dhabi I went on to play some great matches on the tour at the start of the year and I will be hoping for even better this year”, said Nadal in a release.
