Donald Young, Adrian Mannarino and Tim Smyczek are among the winners in the first day of the Bbt Atlanta Open thanks to their unbelievable comebacks.
Young, who is the seventh seed, won an incredible battle against fellow American Austin Krajicek 3-6 7-6(10) 7-5 in 2 hours and 33 minutes of play. Krajicek had two match points in the second set tie-break (one on his serve at 9-8) and was 5-2 up in the third, before losing five straight games and the match.
“It was rough. I started off quite nervous. He was playing well,” Young said. “He was serving well, he was volleying, he played a little different than I expected. He was keeping the pressure on and making me come up with shots.”

Smyczek stormed back to win 5-7 7-6(5) 6-3 after Brazilian lucky loser Thiago Monteiro served for the match on 7-5 5-3, while Mannarino ousted German Mischa Zverev 6-3 3-6 7-6(5) after the German served for it on 6-5 in the third.
