Gilles Simon threatened to take legal action against chair umpire John Blom during his second round defeat to Grigor Dimitrov at the Wimbledon Championships on Thursday.

It happened so in the early stages of the second set, when it started to drizzle. Irked by the decision of the play not being called off, Simon approached the umpire.

“I don’t want to play, when it’s raining, on grass. That’s it. If I play and get injured, I will sue you and you will pay,” the Frenchman was quoted as saying by ESPN.

“I hate to play when it’s raining,” he later addressed the issue in the post-match press conference. “I feel the day I’m going to get injured on slippery grass, I’m going to sue everyone in the stadium.”

The 16th-seeded Simon, however, couldn’t save himself the blushes, losing 6-3 7-6 6-4 6-4 to his Bulgarian adversary in a grueling battle that went on for over three hours.
