World number one Novak Djokovic has been reportedly banned from cycling around the Wimbledon campus after the Serb nearly escaped a bump into a supply vehicle prior to the start of the tournament.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Djokovic was cycling on the slopes of the campus as a part of his conditioning training when he narrowly missed a crash, before being ordered by a tournament player-liaison official to not to continue doing so as a precautionary measure.
The official, further, clued-up Djokovic about the potential quandary he could have faced had the collision took place, even as the 29-year-old appeared despondent over the ban, the report added.
Djokovic, however, didn’t let it affect his on-court performance as the two-time defending champion got his campaign off to a winning start with a straight-set conquest of James Ward on Monday. He is next scheduled to take the court against Adrain Mannarino on Wednesday.
