World No. 1 tennis player, Novak Djokovic, became the first player in the history of sport to surpass the $100 million mark as career prize money. This comes after the Serb defeated Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut 3-6 6-4 6-1 7-5 to advance to the quarter-finals of the ongoing Roland Garros 2016.
The 29-year-old Djokovic has, by far, pocketed around $100,001,974, fair amount of money more than Roger Federer’s $98,011,727, who missed out on the potential feat following his withdrawal from the season’s second major in Paris due to a back injury.
Among his accomplishments, Djokovic has won 11 Grand Slam titles, 65 career trophies including 11 World Tour Final triumphs, and an Olympic medal that coalesce for a supreme 723-149 win-loss record ever since he turned professional in 2003.
Meanwhile, the top-seeded Djokovic will look to boost his money bank further when crosses the swords with Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych for a place in the last-four stage.
