Laura Robson’s comeback from injury will be under new management after she confirmed her split from coach Mauricio Hadad.

The former world No.27, who has been blighted by a wrist injury over the past two years, has worked with the Colombian coach since 2014. Robson returned to the tour from injury last summer, but enjoyed minimal success on the court before ending her season early due to ongoing issues with her wrist.

This year the Brit has already participated in 12 tournaments, the most in her career since 2013. Still searching for the form which took her inside the top-30 of the world rankings, Robson has only won one main draw match on the WTA Tour this year. In April she defeated world No.117 Klara Koukalova in the first round of qualifying at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, her best performance since undergoing surgery on her wrist.

According to the Daily Mail, Robson decided to end her collaboration with Hadad following her first round loss to Andrea Petkovic at the French Open. Hadad has previously worked with Maria Sharapova and Heather Watson prior to Robson. Until the end of Wimbledon, the 22-year-old will work with British coaches Colin Beecher and Lucie Ahl, both of whom are former players.

Currently ranked 308th in the world, Robson is hoping to pick up some valuable points during the grass court season. After losing in the first round of the Nottingham Open to Portuguese qualifier Michelle Larcher de Brito, Robson will play in the qualifying draw at the Birmingham Classic this weekend. She hasn’t won a match on the grass since the 2013 Wimbledon championships, where she reached the fourth round.

Prior to injury, Robson was billed as one of the most promising players in British tennis. At the age of 14 she won the Wimbledon girls’ title, despite being the youngest player in the entire tournament. She was able to convert her junior success in the pro tour by breaking the world’s top-30 in July 2013. In 2012 she reached the final of the Guangzhou Open, becoming the first Bitish player to reach a WTA final since Jo Durie in 1990. At the grand slam events, Robson has reached the fourth round at both the US Open (2012) and Wimbledon (2013). She also won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in the mixed doubles alongside Andy Murray.
