Alize Cornet’s umpire outrage
If you always wanted to see what Alize Cornet looks like what she is angry, just watch a replay of her fourth round encounter against Elina Svitolina at the 2015 French Open.
Trailing 2-6, 5-5, Cornet was broken after a shot from her was called out. The Frenchwoman initially accepted the decision until she got to the other side and saw the mark. Cornet went up the umpire and shouted that the call was actually in before sitting down (an action which she wasn’t allowed to do as the game was about to start).
“Give me a warning, I don’t care,” Cornet said to the umpire.
“You stole me a point.”
At the time Cornet was playing in the fourth round of the tournament for the first time in her career. She did recover the break before losing the match in a second set tiebreaker.
