It isn’t everyday that a player hands out beer during their press conference. Then again, Simona Halep is one of a kind.
The idea initially started off as a bet between an English and a Romanian journalist. Whoever had the most players left in the women’s draw had to buy the other a drink. The quartet of Romanian successes ensured that the Romanian journalist had to buy the round in. Fortunately for him, Halep offered to give out the beer herself and she stayed true to her word.
