
The first day of the French Open has come to an early end after poor weather conditions resulted in the end of play on Sunday.
Throughout the day matches at Roland Garros has been disrupted by the weather. Only ten matches were completed at the tournament with a small number of notable early wins, including Petra Kvitova surviving a three sets scare and Nick kyrgios defeating Italy’s Marco Cecchinato in straight sets.
Matches featuring Simona Halep, Gabine Muguruza, Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic has all been postponed until Monday in what will now be a manic day for organizers. The weather for tomorrow is forecasted for a slight improvement, but showers are still expected. According to the Met Office, showers will happen throughout the day followed by a dry evening.
