World No.2 Andy Murray will host a exhibition night in Scotland to raise money for two charities based in Great Britain.

The ‘Andy Murray Live’ extravaganza will also feature recent Monte-Carlo Masters runner-up Gael Monfils as well as Jamie Murray and Tim Henman.  The event will take place at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow on September 21st.

Murray is hoping to raise an extensive amount of money for Unicef UK and Young People’s Futures (YPF). Unicef, known as the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund, raises money to support the UN in their work across the world. Murray has been extensively involved with the charity throughout his career. Last year, he raised £83,000 for the charity through his Andy’s Aces initiative. The other charity, YPF, is a Glasgow-based organization that works with young people aged between 5-18.

Speaking about the September event, Murray said that he is happy to be able to bring world-class tennis back to his home city.

It’s great to be returning home to Scotland and playing in the city of Glasgow. I travel the world playing tennis and unfortunately I don’t spend as much time as I would like to at home. I owe it to my fans who have supported me throughout the years and what better way than to play in front of them at The SSE Hydro whilst raising money for Young People’s Futures and Unicef. I’m looking forward to bringing top-level tennis to Glasgow on an annual basis and making this event bigger and better every year,” Murray said.

It has been confirmed that half of the tickets for the event will be sold for £25 or less. Sponsors participating in the charity night include Under Armour, Jaguar and the Wimbledon Foundation.
