Milos Raonic’s presence at the upcoming Miami Masters is in doubt following his straight sets loss to Novak Djokovic in Indian Wells.

The two-time Grand Slam semifinalist moved gingerly around the court as he struggled with an injury of some sort. Alarm bells started to ring for the Raonic camp when he went off the court for a medical time-out after dropping the first set to Djokovic. Returning to the court, the Canadian has no solution to Djokovic’s heavy hitting as he failed to win a single game during the second set.

Speaking about his troubles on the court, Raonic revealed that he started to feel the problem ‘after a couple of games’. The Canadian has been troubled by a abductor injury, which forced him to miss a month of the tour this year. The latest issue facing the Canadian is yet to be diagnosed as he contemplates what to do next.

“I have to see the medical staff here and discuss with my own [staff]. [It] feels similar, but not as bad. I don’t think I let it get as bad.” He said.
“I have to do the right investigations to see what it is and go from there”. He later added.

Refusing to blame his woes for his comprehensive defeat in his third Masters final. The world No.12 spoke highly about Djokovic’s performance in the final.

I don’t think it affected my effort. I thought he played much better than I did. I struggled again, just like last time, to start the match well, and then he’s the best player in the world at this moment and a good step ahead of everybody.” Raonic said

Raonic’s next scheduled competition will be the Miami Masters, which will get underway later this week. There is a fresh cloud of doubt concerning his participation in the tournament following the latest problem. Since his run to the semifinals at the Australian Open, the 25-year-old has already withdrawn from two ATP Tournaments (Delray Beach and Acapulco) as well as Canada’s Davis Cup tie against France.
