A solid match from Carla Suarez Navarro today in Doha semi-final against Agnieszka Radwanska. The Spanish won in two quick sets 6/2, 6/0 and 1h03 minutes, a very surprising performance because she was facing the number three seed.
With this win, Carla Suarez Navarro is the new world number six and knocking in the door of the top 5, and she deserves it when you see her tennis level today.
In the first set she broke first but Radwanska came back immediatly at 1/1. After that the Polish took a new game to lead 2/1, her last game… of the match !
Suarez Navarro played at this moment of the match an incredible tennis with lots of control and good tactics. She won five games in a row to win the first set 6/2.
Carla Suárez Navarro knocking in the door of the Top 5. Up to No.6 after rolling past Radwanska 62 60 to make Doha final. That was CLEAN.

In the second set we all expected a wake up from Agnieszka Radwanska but nothing. She was dominated in all the games, almost all the points of the match. Her opponent was in a very good day and we had the impression that Carla Suarez Navarro couldn’t make any mistakes today. Very impressive. The new world number six took all the games of the second set, six games for her and a qualification to the final. Her first final of the year.
She will face Andrea Petkovic or Jelena Ostapenko tomorrow
