Three sets, 2h32 minutes ! A big battle tonight at Rotterdam between Borna Coric and Thiemo de Bakker.
It’s the young men Borna Coric who took the win after a huge fight. 7/6, 4/6, 6/3 for the Croatian at Rotterdam first round. In the first set the two players were good with their serve, no break until the tie-break. And what a tie-break ! Thiemo de Bakker had the lead and ten set points to conclude but Coric decided to fight and saved all of them.
Finaly, Borna took the first set (7/6(10)).

Miss a lot of occasions ? No reason to give up for de Bakker. The Dutch began the second set with a double break to lead 4/1. Coric woke up and took one break but it was too late. Thiemo was good at serve to stay in the match and play the decider set.
A set with a lot of tension. Both players were concentrated and no break at the begining. At 4/3 for Coric, a huge game ! Twelve minutes with advantage and deuce, de Bakker was under pressure and the Croatian finaly broke his opponent.
A break who was a match point. After that, Coric won the third set (6/3) and the match with a good game.
A great win for Borna Coric, who regularly plays big battles. He will play against top five seed Gael Monfils or Ernest Gulbis at the next round.
