Rafael Nadal smashing racquets out of rage after losing to Gaston Gaudio in 2005? Never happened according to the 14-time Slam champion. Few days ago, the Argentine revealed how Nadal was beyond furious when losing 0-6 6-0 6-1 to him back in 2005 in the tournament of Buenos Aires.
Speaking to Spanish tennis website Punto de Break, Gaudio revealed he saw Nadal after the match smashing and destroying a total of seven racquets. According to Gaston, Rafael was outraged and furious with the loss, so much so that he decided to break all seven racquets he had brought to the tournament after the match was over in the locker room.
Rafael Nadal decided to reply back to the Argentine with class, as we can see in this video dated 2013:

There Nadal explains he has only broke one tennis racquet in his entire life. Remembering the match, Rafael said he wasn’t feeling furious, but rather accepted that someone had played better than him. Nadal also said he would hardly lose a racquet out of rage, let alone minutes after the match was over, when already getting ready to get changed and move on.
Rafa took it with a smile, Punto de Break decided to remember that day today
