Injury-plagued Canadian Milos Raonic has withdrawn from the remaining IPTL matches, citing a back injury as the reason.
“Milos has been troubled by back spasms and getting therapy. The recommendation is complete rest to be prepared for next year” Manila mavericks co-owner Jean-Henri Lhullier. Despite the disappointment, Raonic is not yet considered a doubt for the next season’s opening events. The Australian Open is still more than one month off, and the injury is not a recurrence of issues that have plagued Raonic in his career, including the wrist, ankle, and foot.
Raonic has given no indication that he will miss any time from the ATP Tour, and is still scheduled to play in Brisbane as early as January fourth in preparation for the first grand slam of the year.
Raonic’s 2015 was plagued by injury, with nerve and foot problems the main cause of time missed.
