Nick Kyrgios is aming to win his first Grand Slam title in 2016 after reaching two quarter finals at Wimbledon in 2014 (after beating Rafa Nadal in the quarter final) and at the Australian Open in 2015. He was the first teenager to reach two Grand Slam quarter finals since Roger Federer in 2001. The 20-year-old Aussie player finished the year in 30th position in the ATP Ranking. In 2015 he reached the fourth round at Wimbledon before losing to Richard Gasquet in the quarter finals.
“I had a pretty up and down season, results-wise and then obviously on the court there was some stuff. But overall it was pretty successful. I am looking to go really far in a Grand Slam and then almost win one in the next year or two. I think that I have matured a lot this year and I have learned a lot and I definitely feel that I have grown as a person and as a tennis player. I will do everything I can, so I think for my game it’s good. It brings energy and excitment and I think it’s very important”, said Kyrgios.
“I don’t think I am actually very angry at all. I am actually a calm sort of guy off the court but on the court I am a competitor. I want to win. At the end of the day that’s all I want to do. I will do everything I can, so I think for my game it’s good. It brings energy and excitement and I think that’s very important.”
