Roger Federer got off to a spectatcular start in Paris Bercy with a 6-1 6-1 win over Andreas Seppi in just 47 minutes.

“I feel great. I am overexcited. I was just seeing the ball very well and it’s a great feeling because you feel whatever you do, you will find a solution somehow, especially on the return games. You wish every match was like that. It was a great pleasure at Bercy. The atmosphere was fantastic and I think the new Bercy is a beautiful stadium.

Federer will take on John Isner in the third round Tomorrow

“I know it’s not going to be easy against Isner. I need to make sure I focus on my own game and see what I can do on his serve. At the US Open I had to come up with some great shots at the right time to win that second set tiebreaker and I had to wait for a long time to break him. We will see how it goes tomorrow”.

Federer, who won the Paris Bercy title in 2011 beating Jo Wilfried Tsonga, is one of the two players to have won the Roland Garros and Paris Bercy.

Federer won his sixth title of the year last Sunday in his home city Basel where he triumphed for the seventh time. Before Basel Federer won four more titles in Brisbane, Dubai, Istanbul, Halle, Cincinnati.

“I have been 10 times in a row in Basel, so it always affects my preparation when I come into this tournament in Paris. That’s why the first rounds are always tough for me in this tournament. Basel is more important for me, but it does not mean that I don’t care about the Paris Bercy tournament.

“I think I am playing a very good year. I played well. I would have liked to win the US Open and Wimbledon. Mentally and physically it was rather easy year. If I look to the future, I believe this is a good thing and this year is not over yet. It’s tough to win a lot more with Novak who is in such a good shape. There were occasions when I was able to beat him. I was competitive against him”, said Federer
