
Novak Djokovic will lead Serbia in their first round Davis Cup clash against Kazakhstan in March according to his official website.
The world No.1 has released the first part of his 2016 schedule, which includes the Davis Cup. According to a source from tanjug.rs, Djokovic is almost certain to play in the tie ‘as long as everything goes to plan’. It will be the second consecutive year that the Serbian has played in the first round of the Davis Cup. Earlier this year Djokovic won both of his matches during Serbia’s 5-0 win over Croatia.
The upcoming will tie be hosted in Serbia at a yet to be confirmed venue. The nominations for the team won’t be announced until ten days before the first round tie.
Since 2004 Djokovic has played 39 matches (34 singles and 5 doubles matches) for his country, winning 31 of them. In the build-up to the Davis Cup clash on March 3rd, Djokovic will play in three tournaments including the Australian Open. Djokovic’s early schedule for 2016 will be the following :-

22/02 – Dubai Tennis Championships 04/03 – Serbia v Kazakhstan (Davis Cup round 1)
