Judy Murray is the latest individual to come out and criticise the length of the ATP season. Murray is the mother of singles world No. 2 Andy Murray and doubles specialist Jamie. She took to twitter to voice her concerns.
Seriously @ATPWorldTour @WTA the tennis season is waaaaaay too long. Sometimes less is more. #justsaying

Murray has also acted as a mentor for the likes of Laura Robson and Heather Watson in her capacity as Fed Cup captain for Great Britain. There is a long history of complaints about the eleven month run of the season, with Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick, and current World No.1 Novak Djokovic, all past proponents of reducing its length.
The ATP tour runs until the middle of November, and starts again in early January. The Challengers and Futures circuits continue beyond the finish of the ATP World Tour Finals. The Carlsbad Classic on the WTA tour does not end until the twenty-ninth of November.
