US tennis legend John McEnroe thinks that Great Britain will be favourite over Belgium when the two teams will meet at the end of the month for the Davis Cup final.
Andy Murray won all eight Davis Cup matches he played this year, including the two doubles matches he played together with his brother Jamie in the quarter finals against France at the Queen’s Club in London and the semifinal against Australia in Glasgow. McEnroe is convinced that Murray and his brother Jamie will lead Great Britain to their first Davis Cup title since 1936.
“There will be pressure on Andy, but the way he handled it in the semifinal against Australia, he will handle it again and win the two singles. It will be nice if he grabbed the chance to lead Great Britain to glory again with his brother”, said McEnroe.
“Great Britain are definitely the favourites. It’s more difficult on the road but even in the singles they have an outside shot. I don’t want to put pressure on but they should win this tie eight out of ten times.”
