Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo, last year’s finalist at the ATP World Tour Finals, came back from a set down to battle past a French team formed by Pierre Hugues Herbert and Nicholas Mahut with 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 10-7. The Croatian and Brazilian team have kept alive their chance to finish the year at the top of the ATP Ranking.

Herbert and Mahut got a double break to clinch the first set with 6-3 and earned two match points at 5-3 on Herbert’s serve but the young Frenchman made two double faults.

Dodig and Melo fended off the two match points to force the second set to the tie-break. They rallied from 1-4 in the breaker by winning six consecutive points to win the tie-break with 7-4. Dodig and Melo got the early break en route to winning the super tie-break with 10-7.

Dodig and Melo are currently third in the ATP Ranking with 6340 points behind Jean Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau (6510 points) and US twin brothers Mike and Bob Bryan (6465 points).
