The field of the WTA Elite Trophy, which takes place in the state of the art Zhuhai Hengqin International Tennis Centre in the southern Chinese coastal city of Zhuhai from 3rd to 8th November 2015,has been announced. The 12-player singles field features players that are ranked after those who qualified for the WTA Finals in Singapore.
The line-up is led by three former Grand Slam champions Venus Williams (winner in Auckland and Wuhan and reached the semifinal in Doha and the quarter final at the US Open), Caroline Wozniacki (winner in Kuala Lumpur) and Jelena Jankovic (winner in Guangzhou and Honk Kong), 2015 US Open finalist Roberta Vinci, 2012 Roland Garros finalist Sara Errani, Carla Suarzez Navarro (finalist in Miami, Antwerp and Rome) and WTA Rising Stars Karolina Pliskova (winner in Prague and runner-up in Sydney, Dubai, Birmingham and Stanford), Madison Keys (finalist in Charleston, semifinalist at the Australian Open and quarter finalist at Wimbledon) and Elina Svitolina (winner in Marrakesh, semifinalist in Cincinnati, Stanford, Brisbane and Bogotà and quarter finalist at the Roland Garros), plus Andrea Petkovic (winner in Antwerp and semifinalist in Miami and Charleston), Svetlana Kuznetsova (winner in Moscow and finalist in Madrid) and wild card Zheng Saisai (winner in Dalian, semifinalist in Shenzhen and quarter finalist at the Japan Open in Tokyo)
