South African Raven Klaasen and Brazilian Marcelo Melo won their second straight doubles title beating the Italian team formed by Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini with 6-3 6-3 at the Shanghai Rolex Master. Klaasen and Melo have recently won the doubles title at the Rakuten Open in Tokyo when they beat Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah with 7-6 3-6 10-7.
Bolelli and Fognini broke serve at the start of the match and consolidated the break to take a 2-0 lead.Klaasen and Melo broke back to draw level to 2-2. The South African and Brazilian team broke serve to take a 5-3 lead before fending off three break points to serve out for the set with 6-3 after 30 minutes.
The second set started exactly as the first with the Italians able to take a 2-0 lead. Once again Melo an Klaasen broke back to claw their back to 2-2. Klaasen and Melo clinched their fifth break of the match when Fognini and Bolelli were serving to stay in the match at 3-5.
