“I aggravated the injury at the tournament in Linz. After the match the doctors examined my knee and I came to the conclusion that I should take a break. I won’t go on court in the nearest future. I am always very pleased to come to the tournament. I would like to thank the competition organizers for understanding”, said Wozniacki
The organizer salso handed a wild-card to WTA Rising Star Karolina Pliskova who will replace her compatriot Petra Kvitova who was forced to withdraw due to a harmstring injury
The Kremlin Cup will be the last chance to qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore and this will add extra interest to the WTA Tournament in the Russian capital which will end on Saturday 24th October, just one day before the start of the Singapore tournament.
