TENNIS WTA Rome – V. Williams d. A. Beck 6-3, 6-1. An interview with Venus Williams.
Q: How does it feel to be back on court?
VENUS WILLIAMS: It was actually fabulous. It’s a good time for professional tennis, I have spent the first two games to get my flow and feel pretty good out there.
Q: Which are your priority at the moment?
VENUS WILLIAMS: I have always loved clay, I won few big titles on clay. Wimbledon is so far away, surface are changing in between and I don’t think it is on somebody’s mind at the moment. Mine neither.
Q: How long time has passed since you put your racket down in Charleston?
VENUS WILLIAMS: After Charleston I put the racket down, wasn’t able to play anywhere. I get back on the court, probably I start a week before Madrid, taking the time to my baseline again.
Q: Does it change something during the years you have come to Rome? Friends, visiting, ….
VENUS WILLIAMS: I still have friends here, actually I came here in October to see them. More than anything I want to play matches, and I don’t want just be visiting. For me doesn’t see many sites means that I am winning, so it’s awesome.
Q: Did you read your father’s book?
VENUS WILLIAMS: No, actually. He gave me a copy before I left but I didn’t read it yet. It’s on my list of things to do.
Q: How imagine your life in 10 years?
VENUS WILLIAMS: I still want to look very good. I am serious. You’re playing and you took a lot of signs: I put sunscreen on my knees, eat vegetables and look fabulous in ten years. Fabulous!
