What positives can you take out of this week?
Well, I think it was still a good match. I will take two good matches here. So I think first tournament on clay, it’s not too bad of course. It’s a very tough tournament from the beginning, where you have to play even better to get further.
What did you do wrong during the match if you had time to assess what you were doing?
You know, if you play against an opponent like her and you have some chances and 40:0 games and you are not really taking it that is very bad. There is no way to come back. I think you really have to take all your chances you have and if not that is really tough.
Do you think your serve deserted you at times?
No, I think in this match the return was the key I guess. There were so many breaks, even it’s a fast surface and you would think the serve is the most important shot but actually today it was not really, so many breaks, especially in the beginning of the match, I think seven in a row is a lot. Well, I think we were both really returning better than serving.
Now that you have a break, how is your regeneration process? How are you going to regenerate?
Well, it’s not much of a break. Madrid starts Saturday. Maybe one or two days off and then, of course, practicing again. Now, I will maybe focus on the fitness more and then a couple of days in Madrid and here we go again.
