Flavia Pennetta, US Open champion in 2015, confirmed to the Italian weekly magazine Chi that she is at the fourth month of her pregnancy. She is expected to give birth to her first child next May, at the time when major European clay tournaments in Madrid, Rome and Paris will be played. The proud father is Italian tennis star Fabio Fognini, a former world number 13 who is currently ranked number 49.
“When you are next to the man you love and he gives back, you cannot be anything but happy”, said Pennetta.
